POLLY POCKET
Central PA Horse Rescue saved this sassy little pony 2 years ago today. However, we were never able to share her rescue before now as her situation has been under police investigation. The rescue was called in by a humane officer and Pennsylvania State Police to assist in the seize and rescue of this abused and neglected pony. Complete neglect of vaccines, vet care and farrier care through her entire life. She was crippled and could not walk at all. The day before pickup with the police, the owners chopped off the long ski length hooves but the damage was too severe and she was still removed from them. She was full of tumors as well. Although awaiting the investigation and hearings and trial of the abusers, Central PA Horse Rescue took all vet, vaccine, surgery and farrier expenses. Polly pocket has permanent damage to her legs and feet from the neglect she sustained. After a lengthy wait till the court hearing, the York County court system failed to mention the neglect that this poor pony indurred. They also failed to include any representatives from Central PA Horse Rescue as a witnesses or to speak on behalf of the victim (Polly Pocket). The abusers were only given a $200 fine, despite Central PA Horse Rescue speding over $30,000 in major surgeries, comfort, stalls, farriers, and boots. And there was no consideration for the pain mediations that little Polly Pocket will need daily for the rest of her life.
She is only 12 years old and living in luxury here at Central PA horse Rescue. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and her horsey friends here that make her life as happy as she can be!
